Give Furniture

Recycling furniture is a great way of helping out the Maribyrnong community. These donations can make a great difference to an individual or organisation.

The following organisations will accept donations for furniture:

Salvation Army

Where/ How you can donate: If you have any furniture which you feel is too good to simply throw away you may bring them to your nearest family store - we currently have two stores located in the City of Maribyrnong; Footscray and Braybrook.

What happens with your donation: Family Stores: Assist the community by providing reasonably priced, quality, used clothing, furniture and other household goods; Provide free goods to families referred by a welfare officer of The Salvation Army Family Support Services; Contribute to the protection of the environment by recycling waste and providing industry with recycled cleaning materials.

Brotherhood of St Laurence

Information: Better known as the Brotherhood's op shops, our community stores sell donated furniture and other household items. As well as selling low-cost goods to families and bargain hunters, they also offer job opportunities and a place for community connections.

You can donate directly at our community store in Footscray.
